ATI supports OpenGL 2 on Linux
Five days ago, ATI released version 8.21.7 of their Linux drivers. Remarkable quote on the release notes:
OpenGL 2.0 Support
The latest version of the ATI Proprietary Linux driver introduces support for OpenGL 2.0.
Seems nice :-)
It also seems they're working on that Known Issues list about wich I allready reported. There are no issues about software suspend anymore since their first attempt with version 8.19.10, but I didn't have the time to check it out.
Anyway, I didn't wrote about it, but the drivers are working great with a dual screen setup. I now use my notebook screen @1680x1050 as primary one and an external LCD @1280x1024 as secondary. It's just as one big screen. Configuration went fine and was quite easy if you read the documention. You just have to know, when working with projectors, that you have to adjust the resolution of the external monitor to 1024x768 as most (older) projectors can't handle 1280x1024, but it works very nice.
Oh, another nice thing: they also provide an RSS-feed which notifies you about driver updates.
