New mobile phone
I'm considering to buy a new mobile phone. The requirements are simple: I want to be able to make and recieve phonecalls. No unnecessary gadgets or tools, it should just be able to store a large amount of phonenumbers and contain a decent calendar function that can be synchronised with my Linux-driven computer. All this naturally as cheap as possible. After some help from bcol, I found that to synchronize I could use Wammu in combination with Gammu.

There's a nice database on this page wich lists the phones that are compatible with Gammu/Wammu. When I compare those with the current promotions from The Phone House, I see two devices meeting the requirements and being not that expensive: Sony Ericsson T630 and Nokia 3120.
I think I like the Sony Ericsson the best. I don't like Nokia, they only give just 1 year warranty while 2 years are obligated by Belgian law. I also like the design of the Sony Ericsson, with the big screen. Just one concern: a friend of mine had problems with a Sony Ericsson, 2-3 years old now. He couldn't read some sms-messages from a Nokia. He always had to change the sim card in the Nokia of somebody else. I hope this is fixed now. If anyone has experiences with one of these models or other linux-compatible things that meet my requirements, please leave a message.

The cell phone you were talking about wasn't a Sony Ericsson, but a Sony, from before the merger.
Sony Ericssons have no problems with those coupled messages.
Thanks!
